During our stay at Feldfünf, we will continue our research on the topic of "cleaning", which they began in Japan.
Not only cleanliness but also the act of cleaning has a high social significance in Japan. Cleaning is practiced as an expression of consideration that trains attention and respect towards others and the environment. Furthermore, it is assumed that there is a mutual exchange between our physical and psychological self. Cleanliness is thus also equated with inner order and purity.
Our research aims to question social values through manifestations which promote cultural dialogues. We therefore aim to actively engage with the neighbourhood.
Due to the covid-19 related current regulations Feldfünf is closed to the public. Adapting to these circumstances we will use the window front to draw attention to our topic and to initiate conversations. A digital diary, which we will share through our Instagram account, will furthermore give an insight into our work in progress.
